Cat at the Bar

One evening at the bar,

I saw a cat drinking beer under yellow light,

whiskers flecked with white foam.

I took a seat on the stool next to him and asked him

why he drank. “Isn’t catnip enough?”

A little cross eyed, he licked his chops and said,

“I’m small in a big world.”
