NaPoWriMo Day #7
Today's prompt: "Write a poem titled “Wish You Were Here” that takes its inspiration from the idea of a postcard. Consistent with the abbreviated format of a postcard, your poem should be short, and should play with the idea of travel, distance, or sightseeing."
One week of NaPoWriMo complete! Looking forward to more creation the rest of the month. Here's today's poem.
Wish You Were Here
I’m writing to tell you that
It's warm here.
The sun still shone after you sailed away
(though I thought it impossible)
I don’t know what it’s like on that island.
Hope it’s warm there, too.
Sorry I threw away the coloring pages I made at your house.
Hope they have cable TV you can watch us grow up on.
Greetings from this side of the beyond.
